Our Therapy

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, anxiety, and OCD are some of the most common and uncomfortable difficulties we can experience at some point in our lives. In adolescents, these can feel particularly intense and disruptive. With support and skill building, we can learn to manage emotions and intrusive thoughts rather than feeling controlled by them. Through counselling, we help you rebuild motivation, perspective, and the joy you once had in your life

Academic Skills and Peer Relations.

Support with issues that affect school life and social interactions, including anger management, self esteem, self harm, learning difficulties, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, test anxiety, revision and study skills, peer relationships, dating, setting healthy boundaries, and social anxiety.

We can also help with school accommodations, including identifying helpful adjustments and supporting communication with school around learning needs and wellbeing. We are here to help.

Orientation and Non-Binary Support

LGBTQIA+ young people deserve kind, clear support so they are not just coping, but thriving. We offer a safe, affirming space for adolescents to explore identity, build self esteem, manage anxiety, and strengthen resilience and healthy boundaries, at a pace that feels right for them. As a parent or guardian, you may have understandable questions or concerns.

While we will not promise to explain everything, we can support you to respond with confidence, care, and steadier communication during what can be a complex and stressful time for the whole family.

Teen and Young Adult Substance Missteps

While experimenting with alcohol or drugs can be common in adolescence and young adulthood, sometimes it becomes risky or hard to manage. If it is affecting your mood, sleep, motivation, relationships, or school or work, you are not alone.

We can help you understand your triggers and risk factors, and build healthier ways to cope with stress, anxiety, low mood, pressure, or feeling numb. You will learn practical tools and a safer plan, with parent or family support if helpful.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence based therapy that helps the brain process distressing memories so they feel less intense and intrusive. It is recommended by NICE for PTSD and described by the NHS as a therapy that can reduce PTSD symptoms.

In EMDR, we work at a safe, manageable pace, focusing on stuck patterns such as upsetting memories, unhelpful beliefs, anxiety features, OCD triggers, rumination, and the emotional impact of difficult experiences. Many people notice meaningful improvement within 6 to 10 sessions, although this varies. We agree a plan together and review progress regularly.

Trauma & PTSD

Many people experience lingering symptoms after painful or traumatic experiences. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness can remain long after the event has passed. We can support you to move through these feelings and gently rebuild a sense of safety and steadiness, including support with grief and healing.

Where clinically appropriate, we may use evidence based approaches such as CBT and EMDR, alongside trauma focused methods including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE), to help distressing memories feel less intense and more firmly in the past.

Adulting 101

As a young adult, you may have been taught a lot at school, but not always the practical skills that make everyday life feel manageable. Adulting can be overwhelming, especially when you are expected to have it all figured out.

Adulting 101 is a supportive space to build confidence and independence, one step at a time. We can help with decision making, confidence and communication, routines and organisation, financial planning basics, career direction, and life skills. It is also a place to talk honestly about stress, pressure, and how hard it can feel to carry everything on your own, and to leave with practical tools that make life feel steadier.

Parenting

Children do not come with owners manuals. As they move through different developmental stages, family life can become challenging and even volatile.

We offer parenting and co parenting support through skill building, education and coaching. The tween, teen and young adult years often bring more conflict and trickier communication as young people seek autonomy. We help families strengthen structure, manage ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia, and rebuild healthy connection.

Couples Therapy

Providing support, skills and a safe place for couples to better understand each other's perspective, enhance conflict resolution, increase communication and intimacy, as well as navigate major life events.

Maintaining a happy and healthy relationship can be a challenge when balancing work, illness, redundancy, parenting and daily life stress.  Couples therapy will help highlight your strengths and build stronger skills and communication.

Pandemic Fatigue

Many people still feel the after effects of the pandemic years, not only the stress and uncertainty, but the way life itself changed shape. Remote work and study, blurred boundaries, fewer everyday social moments, and long stretches of managing life through a screen altered routines, confidence, and connection. Some people missed key milestones, first jobs, exams, graduations, new friendships, relationships, or simple rites of passage, and are only now noticing the emotional cost.

It is common to feel flat, burnt out, low in energy, or disconnected, while also craving connection and feeling out of practice socially. Health anxiety, social anxiety, and a sense of lost momentum can linger.  Together, we focus on practical steps that help you feel steadier, more connected, and more like yourself again.

Online Services

Online sessions can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy for most needs, and many people find it easier to engage when they are in their own space. For teens and young adults, virtual sessions are often preferred, offering a flexible way to connect while still making meaningful progress towards your goals. For couples and families, online work can reduce the stress of travel and childcare and allow support to happen in the real context of home life.

Sessions take place securely via Zoom from the comfort of your own confidential space, with appointments offered at times that fit around school, work, and family commitments without the need to extra travel time.
